Meaning
Inspiration
In general I've always been fascinated with a sunset, either a sun setting rising or setting. The colors that appear are quite breathtaking. I was inspired by Leonid Afremov sunset pieces. More specifically his painting "Magical Sunset."A sunset to me represents a new day and new experiences with those you love. also the color represents a sense of warmth, relaxation, and happiness. Whenever you look at a sunset you just think of its beauty and that's what I wanted to do with my piece.
I was inspired also by Jenny Holzer because of the fact that I wanted to incorporate text or words in my art. The way that Jenny Holzer uses text on side of buildings intrigued me. The way that the image and the words blend together and also have a meaning is was I mainly focused on.

Planning Sketches
Experimentation
This project was long and fun process. It had many obstacles in the process but I got through them. I did't get to my final product on one take it took two other times to get my final product. I decided to take two pictures I took in previous years and decided to merge them together, I decided to do this with both of the backgrounds. They turned out really well, however, I realized that it didn't fit the purpose of community that I wanted to portray so I scrapped them. They were a too broad of a picture of an image, I wanted a more close up and personal pictures that could connect more to a community rather than just a random city. My community is Milwaukee and I should use pictures that are of Milwaukee.
